Often, people who are experiencing homelessness are disconnected from society and feel invisible. Taking the time to put together a comfort kit sends a powerful message that they are seen and cared for. It may seem like a small gesture, but a comfort kit can make a big difference in someone’s life. For many unhoused individuals and families, a comfort kit can provide much-needed supplies to help them feel cared for and supported. By providing necessities like food, hygiene items, and clothing we can help people to survive and thrive.

Through completely self-sustained mobile shower units, the Fresh Start WASH & Wellness Program offers showers and other critical hygiene services to individuals experiencing homelessness and economic hardship in cities across the US. In addition to daily access to ADA accommodating showers, individuals experiencing homelessness will also be able to access additional services including: free mental health or substance abuse treatment, food assistance, help getting identification, clean clothes, healthcare, veterinary care for animals, job placement training, and housing assistance. The Comfort Kits being built will be distributed to individuals in need through our Fresh Start WASH & Wellness Program.
