Clean the World is a social enterprise with the mission of saving millions of lives around the world. Handwashing with soap is the most effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Clean the World works with hundreds of charity organizations and relief partners working on the front lines to stop the spread of this pandemic. Since 2009, Clean the World has distributed more than 54 million bars of soap in 127 countries.
Clean the World accomplishes its mission by collecting and recycling discarded soap from its 8,000 participating hospitality partners and by receiving donated product such as soap, shampoos, socks, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, from our amazing corporate partners. Through the distribution of these hygiene products to at-risk communities, Clean the World helps prevent millions of hygiene-related illnesses and deaths every year. Our Soap Saves Lives Boxes contain a variety of much-needed supplies that these communities need the most. This is a great way to give back during this unprecedented time.
Handwashing with soap is the most effective way to prevent the spread of hygiene-related illnesses including: COVID-19, acute respiratory infection and diarrheal disease. To help save those lives, recycled soap is the primary ingredient in Clean the World’s global hygiene revolution.
Yes. The soap has been tested by SGS North America, a Florida state-certified testing facility. SGS purposely infects soap, which is then run through the standard Clean the World recycling process. As a result of the cleansing process, the soap has been given a 100 percent clean bill of health. All pathogens are successfully removed from the soap by this process.
At a Clean the World facility, the soap goes through a filtration process, turned into soap grind, sanitized, and processed into new bars. The bars are then boxed for distribution to charity organizations around the world.
Since 2015, Clean the World has been working with corporate partners to host hygiene kit packing events that support local charity organizations around the world. Since the program started, we’ve distributed over 5 million hygiene kits to individuals and families in need. These team building events allow corporations to give back while offering a fun and engaging way for their employees, trade show attendees, and volunteers to support an important cause.
With the CDC restrictions on group gatherings due to COVID-19, Clean the World transitioned these builds to “at-home” packing events that allowed our partners and their employees the opportunity to engage in a give-back experience from the comfort of their own homes. These Soap Saves Lives Boxes contain life-saving hygiene supplies that are needed now more than ever before as we fight the spread of COVID-19.
Right now, the Soap Saves Lives Box is only available through your employer, but we plan to make the program available to everyone soon! If you are interested in learning more, please email impact@cleantheworld.org.

Congrats! Your hygiene kits provides hope and life-saving supplies to individuals and families affected by COVID-19. In 7-10 business days, you will receive your Soap Saves Lives Box. In the meantime, check the email you used for registration. We will send you tracking information once your Soap Saves Lives Box is on its way.

The Soap Saves Lives Box will contain all of the product you will need to assemble your kits. Carefully open the box and take out the smaller display boxes. Remember to keep the larger box to collect and ship the assembled hygiene kits after the build.
To make your build a success, please have the following supplies on hand:
- colored markers or crayons for coloring the box and/or making notecards
- packing tape to prepare the Soap Saves Lives Box for shipping after the build
- a table & tablecloth for placing the smaller, display boxes on during the build
- scissors to cut out notecards or other decorations
- trash bags to collect any discarded materials.

Your Soap Saves Lives Box has been carefully packed by a Clean the World team member to ensure you have all of the supplies you need to complete your hygiene kits. However, if you believe you are missing supplies or have questions about the contents in the box, please email us at impact@cleantheworld.org.
Each Soap Saves Lives Box is carefully packed by a member of the Clean the World team. To ensure that you have enough products to successfully assemble your hygiene kits, we often pack additional product in the box. You might have extra bottles of shampoo or toothbrushes. Don’t worry. You will receive the exact number of soap bars (either 50 or 100 depending on the amount ordered) to complete your build so once you have run out of soap, you are done! Any left over product can be added to one of the hygiene kits or simply placed inside the Soap Saves Lives Box before shipping.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience. If the Soap Saves Lives Box gets damaged during shipping, please contact us at impact@cleantheworld.org, and a member of our team will ensure you are not missing any product.
If the Soap Saves Lives Box is not usable to ship the assembled hygiene kits back to your charity. Don’t worry. Any cardboard box will work!
Clean the World will send a prepaid shipping label to the email you used at registration. Please check your spam folder in case it gets filtered. If you still need a shipping label, please email impact@cleantheworld.org. We are happy to help!
If you do not have a printer to print the prepaid shipping label emailed to you by Clean the World, you can request one at any UPS store or location or schedule a pickup and ask a UPS representative to bring one to you. Simply provide the tracking number provided by Clean the World to UPS.
