Soap Saves Lives Box:
Packing Hygiene Kit Supplies, Delivering Hope.

“Wash your hands!” is a phrase we hear often. But what do you do if you don’t have soap? How do you stay healthy and protect yourself against viruses, bacteria, and disease when you can’t properly wash your hands? 

This is the unfortunate reality for thousands of people experiencing homelessness across the United States every day. Since 2009, Clean the World has distributed 53 million bars of soap and 5 million hygiene kits like the ones you will be building. 

By ordering a SOAP SAVES LIVES BOX, you are joining Clean the World on the front lines in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 and other hygiene-related diseases. Thank you for your support!

Plan Ahead

Make your event fun and engaging! Here are some tips to make your build a success:

  1. Play music and provide snacks and drinks.
  2. Dress the part – Increase your impact and order “Wash Your Hands, Bro” shirts for the family! Each shirt provides 10 bars of soap to 10 people in need.
  3. Get the little helpers involved – They can color the box, decorate notecards, or write messages to hygiene kit recipients. 
  4. Gather supplies – Check out the list below.  
  5. Print inspirational notecards – If you don’t have a printer, don’t worry. You can make your own using 3×5″ cards.
  6. Charge your phone – This will be an experience you will want to share with family and friends.

Everything you will need is located inside of your Soap Saves Lives Box.

  1. Wash your hands. Here’s a song you can sing while washing your hands.
  2. Protect your table with a tablecloth or sheet.
  3. Carefully open your SOAP SAVES LIVES BOX—you will be using it again to pack your completed hygiene kits in!
  4. Next, take out each of the small boxes and line up everything on your table or counter.
  5. At the beginning of the line should be your empty hygiene kit bags and soap. The rest is up to you!
  6. Package one of each item in a hygiene kit bag, and place your completed kit into your now-empty SOAP SAVES LIVES BOX.

While You're Building

  1. Have fun! You are doing something great for a mission bigger than any of us. Be proud of the work you are doing, and let your heart feel good.
  2. Take photos and videos! You are making a huge impact so share it with the world!! Photos and videos will encourage others to ACT. Hashtags you can use #soapsaveslivesbox, #washyourhandsbro, and #CleantheWorld.

After your build

Now that your hygiene kits are built and ready to go, it is time to send them to the charity!

  1. Clean the World will email you with additional instructions when it is time to distribute the kits.
  2. If you are shipping directly to the charity, Clean the World will provide a prepaid shipping label. 
    • Attach this shipping label to the outside of your SOAP SAVES LIVES BOX. If you do not have a printer, you can request one at any UPS store or location or schedule a pickup and ask a UPS representative to bring one to you. Simply provide the tracking number provided by Clean the World to UPS. 
    • Bring your SOAP SAVES LIVES BOX full of assembled hygiene kits to any UPS store or location for delivery or schedule a pickup. There may be a small charge for pickups from your home. Please check ups.com for more details.

We have partnered with charities in your area to distribute these hygiene kits to the individuals and families affected by COVID-19. Contact impact@cleantheworld.org for questions.

How We Are Keeping You Safe

Here at Clean the World, we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the items in your SOAP SAVES LIVES BOXES are completely safe.

All of the personal care products that have come to Clean the World facilities remain in their original packaging for 7 days or more. After clearing the 7-day “product quarantine”, the outside of all boxes are disinfected. Clean the World’s personnel building the SOAP SAVES LIVES BOXES have done so wearing protective gear and adhering to Clean the World’s safety guidelines. Rest assured, the only thing arriving at your doorstep is your box and a great time!
