Clean the World’s Europe operations are on the rise, with more and more hospitality partners joining our European Global Hospitality Recycling Program to recycle their soap and plastic bottled amenity waste. Today, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on the remarkable recycling efforts of one of our esteemed European partners: DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station.

Floris Licht, General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station, expressed his thoughts on the partnership with Clean the World, stating,

“We take great pride in our partnership with Clean the World at DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station. We recycle our in-room plastic bottled amenities on Clean the World’s hospitality recycling program, and the process has proven to be a straightforward, effective solution in supporting our hotel recycle these amenities effectively and Clean the World’s impact reporting system tool provides a great way for us to track our impact.”

Since joining the program in October 2021, the 557-room DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station has demonstrated its strong commitment to sustainability by actively managing its in-room plastic bottled amenity waste.

Valentin Grimaud, Housekeeping Manager, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, 

“We are really happy to collaborate with the Clean the World facilities in Europe; indeed, we are using a lot of plastic concerning bathroom amenities, and it’s essential for us to recycle this plastic..”

Achievements:

Since 2021, DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station’s participation in Clean the World’s “Plastic Only” european recycling program has created an incredible impact so far, with:

  • 2,585 kg of Total Plastic Collected
  • 1,192 kg of Total Waste Recycled

DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station’s participation in Clean the World’s recycling program is an excellent example of the impact that can be made by simply incorporating sustainable solutions within hotel operations.

The hotel and its staff’s dedication to actively participating in Clean the World’s Global Hospitality Recycling Program underscores their commitment to supporting Hilton’s “Travel with Purpose” sustainability objectives. The hotel also acts as a conscious citizen of the City of Amsterdam, supporting the city in achieving their sustainability objectives. Partnerships like these are key in supporting UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and creating a more sustainable hospitality industry in the future.
