Clean the World shortlisted for Circular Economy Award at Global Good Awards 2025

Building on last year’s success

Following our Silver Award win in 2024 for Waste Reduction and Minimisation, we are proud to share that Clean the World has been shortlisted in the Circular Economy category at the Global Good Awards 2025.

The awards ceremony took place on 24 September 2025 at the renowned BMA House in London, a fitting venue for an event dedicated to sustainable progress. Each year, the Global Good Awards recognises purpose-driven businesses, NGOs, and social enterprises that are leading the way in transparency, innovation, and measurable impact.

The programme itself is known for “walking the talk”: the ceremony features a fully plant-based menu, sustainable drinks from Toast Brewing, and a hybrid format to reduce travel emissions — making the event as low-impact as possible.

Why this recognition matters

Being shortlisted in the Circular Economy Award is an important milestone for Clean the World. It recognises the unique impact of our Global Hospitality Recycling Programme, which collects discarded hotel soap bars and plastic amenity bottles, processes them through regional recycling centres, and transforms them into new, sanitised bars of soap. These are then distributed to vulnerable communities around the world.

To date, Clean the World has:

  • ♻️ Diverted 13+ million kgs of hotel waste from landfill
  • 🚿 Donated 90+ million recycled soap bars to communities in need
  • 🏨 Partnered with over 8,300 hotels globally

The programme is designed to be simple for hotels to adopt, delivering measurable ESG results that can be tracked and shared in sustainability reports. Beyond reducing waste, it strengthens guest engagement by showing travellers that their stay contributes to a cleaner, healthier world.

Who else was shortlisted?

The Circular Economy Award brought together an impressive group of innovators from across industries, demonstrating how circularity is being embedded at scale:

  • ACS Clothing – Powering a Circular Future: Fashion with Purpose
  • Ambipar – Sustainable Biocapsules: Transforming Waste into Trees
  • Bantam Materials UK (Prevented Ocean Plastic) – Prevented Ocean Plastic East Africa
  • Dubs – Making Circularity the Default in Children’s Footwear
  • Ecore International – Innovating Tomorrow with Yesterday’s Materials: TRUcircularity’s Green Initiative
  • Object Space Place – Restorative Design Framework
  • Reborn / Matt-Less – Turning Mattress Waste into a Circular Economy Revolution

Standing alongside these trailblazers highlights the diversity of circular solutions — from fashion rental to ocean plastics, from footwear to furniture — and underscores that closing the loop is possible across every sector.

About the Global Good Awards

Founded in 2015 by Karen Sutton, the Global Good Awards has become one of the most respected recognition platforms for sustainability. It was the first awards programme worldwide to be rated Outstanding by the Awards Trust Mark in 2018, and it has retained that status ever since.

The awards attract leading names such as DHL, eBay, HSBC, UNICEF, Canon, and the National Trust, alongside fast-growing social enterprises and NGOs, creating a space where innovation meets collaboration.

Looking ahead

For Clean the World, this shortlist is both a recognition and a call to action. It validates the work of our passionate teams, hotel partners, and NGO collaborators, and it challenges us to continue expanding our impact — both environmentally and socially.

We remain committed to growing our presence globally, supporting hotels in reducing their waste footprint, and providing lifesaving hygiene to the communities who need it most.

Join the movement

Circularity is not a trend — it’s the future. At Clean the World, we are proud to be part of this journey and to stand alongside organisations proving that business can be a force for good.
