Clean the World is proud to announce that we’ve been shortlisted in two categories at the National Sustainability Awards 2025, a prestigious annual celebration recognizing sustainability innovation and impact across the UK.
Shortlisted Categories
- Circular and Recycling Program Award – Clean the World
- Rising Star – Austin Eaton, Head of Marketing, Clean the World / CTW Events Europe and UK
These nominations reflect the collective efforts of our global team and partners to drive measurable, scalable impact through our soap and plastic recycling programs.
Recognizing Sustainable Impact
The Circular and Recycling Program Award celebrates the work of our Global Hospitality Recycling Program, which diverts discarded soap and plastic bottles from hotels away from landfill and gives them new life. Used soap is rigorously sanitised and remanufactured into new bars, which are then distributed to communities in need of basic hygiene resources. Meanwhile, plastic bottles are collected, shredded into flake, which then can be reintroduced into the circular economy.
Since 2009, Clean the World has diverted over 13 million kilograms of hotel waste and distributed more than 90 million bars of recycled soap to communities in need across the globe.
Austin Eaton: A Rising Star in Sustainable Hospitality
We’re also thrilled to see Austin Eaton shortlisted as a Rising Star. As Head of Marketing and Communications in Europe and the UK, Austin has been instrumental in expanding Clean the World’s footprint across the region, developing strategic partnerships and resources that support sustainability goals in the hospitality and corporate events sectors.
Earlier this year, Austin was awarded Gold in the Rising Star category at the Greengage Awards for his efforts and work in sustainable hospitality. His contributions include:
- Creating the Clean the World Sustainability Guide, which equips hotels with actionable solutions and best practices to start or strengthen their sustainability journey
- Developing CTW Events’ Employee Wellbeing Guide, offering HR professionals practical strategies to create more connected, thriving, and purpose-led workplaces
Austin’s work continues to position sustainability not just as a business priority, but as a shared value that supports both people and the planet, and it is with collective individual action, that change can happen.
About the National Sustainability Awards
Now in their fifth year, the National Sustainability Awards spotlight innovative solutions and leadership driving progress across all sectors—from finance and packaging to carbon reduction and community outreach. The awards share best practice, inspire change, and encourage organisations to embed sustainability at the core of their operations.
This year’s ceremony will be held in October and hosted by broadcaster and comedian Maisie Adam. The judging panel includes sustainability leaders from NatWest Group, the City of London Corporation, Arrow Global, and our own Tommie Eaton, Director of Clean the World UK.
We are honored to be recognized among such outstanding initiatives and remain committed to continuing the impact with our partners across the world.
