Clean the World Welcomes Springwood Hospitality to the Global Hygiene Revolution

Springwood Hospitality is a growing, Pennsylvania-based hotel development and management company – and one of the latest to join Clean the World’s Hospitality Partner Program. The Springwood team focuses on three simple words that describe the company’s philosophy: Caring, competent and committed. Team members across all the properties work together as one unit to serve that business approach and raise the bar even higher.

We look forward to working with properties in Hershey and York as they begin shipping discarded soap and bottled amenities to our Orlando recycling center. Welcome aboard!

Soap Collection is Off to an Amazing Start at The Plaza Hotel

When The Plaza Hotel in New York City opened in 1907, it was impressively described as the greatest hotel in the world. More than 100 years later – The Plaza is still know for impressive achievements.

The iconic hotel recently joined Clean the World’s amenity recycling program. Within a week, the housekeeping staff had already filled the first set of bins with discarded soap and bottled amenities. Plaza management is recognizing the staff for their efforts – and we offer our congratulations as well.

You are off to an amazing start, Plaza! Thanks for supporting the Global Hygiene Revolution.

Saluting All Our Fabulous Hotel Room Attendants

This is International Housekeepers Week!

IHW is held every year during the second full week of September and sponsored by IEHA. It is dedicated to recognizing the efforts of hard-working custodial staff members. Cleaning employees have one of the toughest jobs in a building – and one of the most important. They are the true heroes of any building operation. Buildings that aren’t properly cleaned can lead to illness and productivity loss for the people who visit, eat, live, work and play there.

Orlando United Day

A Day of Love and Kindness

Almost a year has passed since that night that has forever changed and shaped the Orlando community. On June 12, 2016, 49 lives were taken during the Pulse nightclub tragedy and the community of Orlando answered to this act of hate and violence with love and togetherness. We showed the world that we are a loving community that disapproves of and rejects violence. A community that has grown, prevailed together, and thus come out stronger.

The City of Orlando and Orange County, in collaboration with Pulse, have designated June 12, 2017, as “Orlando United Day – A Day of Love and Kindness.” This will be a day-long schedule of remembrances to honor the 49 victims and their families. Some of the events include prayer ceremonies with different speakers, special live performances at Lake Eola, and midnight ceremonies at Pulse.

Clean the World will honor this date by hosting a hygiene kit build at its Landstreet recycling center. Volunteers are joining us from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm to build 4,900 hygiene kits in representation of the 49 victims. The hygiene kits will be donated to different charities across Orlando in support of the LBGTQ community. Let’s all honor and cherish the memory of those who lost their lives. Together we can continue the unity that followed the tragedy because we are #OrlandoUnited.

Visit https://oneorlandoalliance.org to know more about “A Day of Love and Kindness” and all the events that you can be part of on this day. It is a day to spread the love. So, pick an event, give back to the community, and share love and kindness.

Clean the World Partners with The Beauty Initiative to Help Women Feel Confident & Beautiful

The Beauty InitiativeIn December 2016, Clean the World partnered with The Beauty Initiative to provide hygiene products to women across the state of Florida. The Beauty Initiative is a non-profit organization that’s mission is to provide free sanitary products to women who are homeless or who experience financial hardships.

Our bars of soap and bottled amenities helped ease the brunt of poverty to these young women. Often times, these women don’t have the means to purchase the necessary hygiene products during their menstruation that helps them feel healthy and clean, but through this amazing collaboration, we were able to help them feel as beautiful and healthy as every woman deserves to.

The Beauty Initiative was able to pack an astounding 343 bags of hygienic items that included our Clean the World soaps. At their most recent event, that number nearly doubled to 700 bags distributed to women across the state of Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. The bags were not only given to women on the streets, but also to a shelter for runaway teens, veterans, and another shelter for domestic violence victims.

These life-changing bags were given to the Broward County Sherriff’s Office and Police Homeless Task Force. The officers kept the bags handy while they were on patrol. They kindly distributed them when they identified someone who could benefit from the feminine hygiene items and beauty products.

The Beauty Initiative not only provides the physical tools for success to women but also the emotional means as well. They hold interactive workshops that promote and teach self-love, self-worth, etiquette, and wellness—along with other beauty techniques women enjoy. Women everywhere deserve to feel confident. At Clean the World, we value that even just a bar of soap can make women feel just that and make a difference in their lives. We donated 500 soaps to The Beauty Initiative and love what the organization stands for. March 8th is International Women’s Day. Make sure to celebrate, empower, and cherish being a woman or the women in your life, because even a small notion goes a long way and can make a difference.
