Clean the World is delighted to support the Green Hotel Club (GHC), a foundation that promotes collaboration on sustainability in Amsterdam with the ambition is to create thriving, high-quality and future-proof hospitality businesses within planetary boundaries.
This collaboration stems from Clean the World’s active involvement in the City of Amsterdam’s 2023 Impact Deal initiative that supports various crucial social and environmental objectives.

The GHC accomplishes its purpose by focusing on strategies and initiatives that contribute to a regenerative economy, ensuring that hotels can sustain themselves without depleting resources, polluting the environment, or degrading the ecosystem.
All participants within the network recognizes the urgency and necessity of climate change and actively contribute to the sustainable transition. Everyone does this in their own way which is feasible within their sphere of influence. Each hotel has its own sustainable ambitions and goals and, in doing so, priorities. As a network, they therefore offer this variety of themes and thus projects, so that everyone can connect what is best suited for his/her hotel. Sharing this knowledge, expertise and experience creates cross-fertilization.
Five streams (water, materials, food, mobility and energy) and three values (health & well-being, culture & society, biodiversity & ecosystems) have been identified that they are fulfilling. They do this by hanging and implementing concrete projects and initiatives under these themes. The emphasis here is on practical, accessible and impactful.
The partnership with Clean the World falls under the theme materials, which Clean the World is delighted to support GHC. Together we have developed a proposition for the members of the Green Hotel Club. Hotels can participate in the recycling program offered by Clean the World. At the end of this year, we will visit the recycling factory to see the process.
DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station is a member hotel who is already participating in the Clean the World hospitality recycling program for a while now and have diverted over 2,500 kgs of plastic amenities from landfill.
