Hygiene Help in New York’s Community

Help us get viral by sharing this post

On October 22nd, Pro Unlimited hosted a hygiene kit build in Woodbury, New York. During the build, participants helped assemble 100 Clean the World Hygiene Kits! These kits were presented to Long Island Coalition for the Homeless. The individuals who received the hygiene kits were experiencing “Street Homelessness,” living in tents or even in the woods without shelter. Hygiene kits contain essential resources to aid in maintaining hygiene health.

Some of these recipients did not have access to these amenities in months, even years. One recipient, for example, has been experiencing “Street Homelessness” for over 20 years. In result, the hygiene kits made an impact not only on those who received the kits but to those distributing as well.

What's in a standard hygiene kit?

Clean the World hygiene kits include the following items: 1 bar of recycled soap, re-purposed bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion, a razor as well as toothpaste and a toothbrush, to maintain dental hygiene.

How you can get involved!

Team building exercises help bring a strong work relationship, and hygiene kit builds are a great way to boost team morale! To host your very own Clean the World Hygiene Kit Build, visit cleantheworld.org.
