Joie de Vivre Hotels, with 34 properties in California, has signed a partnership with Clean the World Foundation.

Founded in 1987 by entrepreneur Chip Conley, San Francisco-based Joie de Vivre is known for creating some of the most innovative hospitality services and products and designing one-of-a-kind boutique hotels, restaurants and spas. Joie de Vivre currently operates more than 30 boutique hotels under the Joie de Vivre Hotels brand and two affiliate properties, which are slated to join the collection this year.

Forty-five percent of Joie de Vivre’s hotels are green certified, and the company is working toward environmental certification for all of its properties, a push that will gain impact as the brand expands outside California. Joie de Vivre maintains a “Green Scorecard” online that tracks conservation efforts at each of its properties, giving guests who are interested in sustainability a tool to choose a hotel based on its green achievements.

“We’re proud to include Joie de Vivre Hotels as members of our growing Clean the World hospitality partnership program,” says Shawn Seipler, executive director at Clean the World. “Their emphasis on ‘green initiates’ and commitment to sustainability make perfect sense as we continue our mission to save lives with soap and create a cleaner world.”
