In line with Hyatt’s commitment to advancing environmental action so that destinations around the world are vibrant for colleagues, guests, customers, owners, investors, and communities, a number of Hyatt UK and Ireland hotels have signed up to take part in the Clean the World UK’s Hospitality Recycling Program.
Through this recycling program, the participating hotels will collect their discarded soaps and bottled amenities so Clean the World can divert them from landfills and give them a new lease of life – whether it be as part of a hygiene kit benefiting communities in need, or with the bottles being recycled or converted to energy.
Supporting United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals
In Europe, Clean the World collects and recycles soap and plastic bottled amenities from participating hotels in Europe. The collected soap is recycled into new bars, providing essential hygiene solutions to underserved populations globally, which supports several UN sustainable development goals (SDGs).
With its ESG program, World of Care, Hyatt Hotels’ efforts also support a number of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals – those that align most closely with its business, impact, and opportunities to make a difference. By participating in Clean the World UK’s Hospitality Recycling Program, participating Hyatt hotels in the UK and Ireland are therefore supporting a number of SDGs, including Responsible Consumption and Production.
