Duke Energy helps Charlotte

Help us get viral by sharing this post

This past December, Duke Energy practices corporate social responsibility by partnering with Clean the World and assembling 400 hygiene kits that were donated to the Harvest Center of Charlotte. According to a new report on housing and homelessness, “More people are homeless in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County this year, and those in homeless shelters and transitional home are staying longer.”

The Harvest Center of Charlotte works within the homeless community by providing food, clothing, shelter, bus passes, health care and much more.

“We have several neighbors who are “regulars” to us and often ask for hygiene kits to shave, clean up and brush teeth. Jerry is a military veteran who has a hard time walking around and these kits have been a great assistance to him. He was fascinated in the way that the soap is recycled and able to be reused.”

– Matthew S. Daniels, Director of Core Services & Volunteerism, Harvest Center of Charlotte
